Resilient Roofing: Meeting the ASCE 7-16 Standard

This presentation covers the changes in ASCE 7 standards from 7-05 through 7-16 and how they relate to roof upload pressures and roof design.  We cover how wind impacts a building, where it creates uplift pressure and how it affects roof installation methods.  A key focus of the presentation is on the difference between “design wind speed” and “warranty wind speed” and how to be clear in the specification to get what you want.

Join us on March 8th to learn more about roof design and specification.

  • Provide an overview of ASCE 7 standards and geographic adoption
  • Review changes of ASCE 7-16 standard
  • Gain a working knowledge of wind speed impact on design and installation practices
  • Understand how ASCE 7-16 affects roof installation methods
  • Explain how wind speeds related to wind design practices and warranty coverage
