The Future is Now

Smart Communities and the Internet of Things

Internet-driven connectivity is changing the built environment.

Owner concerns such as safety, security, and sustainability are all already driving design decisions.  The Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications are rapidly improving the quality & quantity of information available. The building team now has a greater access to data to inform the design, construction, and facility management process.

Join us on February 10th, as Judi Hines of the Verizon Business Group discusses new technologies that our industry can leverage to improve the quality of our built environment.  Systems include Intelligent lighting systems, Intelligent traffic management, Parking optimization, and Public safety and security solutions.  Attendees will:

• Review various technologies that are being used to develop Smart Communities
• Understand strategies for using Internet of Things (IoT) and M2M technologies to optimize parking and traffic management
• Learn how networked technologies can impact designing for safety in the built environment
