Doing What’s Due
Obtaining Owner's Informed Consent for Materials

The principles of architectural and engineering professional responsibility have been firmly established for decades……

Or have they? Recent legal decisions have the potential to fundamentally alter the A/E’s relationship to the owner and their role in the design process. David Stutzman, FCSI, AIA, CCS will demonstrate why A/Es, as licensed learned design professionals, owe owners a Fiduciary Duty, what obligations this duty entails, and the potential benefits to Owner and Designers that include:

  • Increased efficiency
  • Decreased risk
  • Increased value

This presentation will focus on two important aspects: eliminating limitation of liability clauses in design contracts; and fundamental changes in firm practice to mitigate the risks. Join us on November 11th, as a national expert on this topic explains:

  • Fiduciary duties owed to the Owner
  • Changed responsibilities and business practices
  • Procedures and processes for fulfilling fiduciary duty
  • Changes needed to mitigate risks

EVERYONE on the project team will be affected by this shift…this is information you can’t afford to miss!
